Accessible Council
Council should be easier to reach and easier to understand.
Laura believes residents should feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns and understanding how decisions are made. Accessibility starts with listening and continues with clear, accountable communication.

What Laura Stands For
Open, approachable and accountable local leadership.
Residents should not have to feel like outsiders in their own municipal government. Laura wants Council to communicate in a way that makes participation easier and decisions easier to follow.
Listen before deciding
Resident input should be taken seriously before major decisions are finalized, especially when those decisions directly affect neighbourhoods, services or quality of life.
Explain the why
People deserve more than a final vote. Laura believes Council should clearly explain the reasoning, tradeoffs and information behind important decisions.
Be reachable
An elected representative should be approachable and responsive. Questions and concerns should be acknowledged and residents should know where to go for answers.
Respect every voice
Healthy local government depends on respectful discussion, even when people disagree. Laura supports a culture where residents can participate without feeling dismissed or shut out.
Laura’s approach
Show up, listen carefully, communicate plainly and make sure residents can see how their local government reaches decisions that affect them.
